Mobbed By Chickens And Paper Towel Duster

The chickens mobbed me when I went out to collect eggs. I usually have around 5 or 6 chickens following me, but today almost all the hens were waiting for me to give them some scratch. They want their corn treat.

The days are still in the 80's and 90's, but the mornings and evenings are cooling down. It's been in the 50's and 60's at night. Fall is on the way.

Today was a day off, so I thought I would post these photos that I took a couple of weeks ago.

I ran out of the purchased duster sheets that go with this dusting gizmo.  (Everybody probably already does the paper towel thing.)

My answer to the problem was a paper towel (It would have been better it it wasn't perforated in the middle.)

I ran water on the paper towel and then squeezed it until it was just a little ball.

Then I shook it open and attached it to the back of the duster. It has little holes you poke the towel into.

This works well to pick up dust. I've been thinking I should try out used bounce dryer sheets and see how they work

Kristine has been watching Dr. Who shows and I've been going through the computer debris and tossing stuff. I'm tired. Hope I have more energy tomorrow. I think I'll go watch some Dr. Who with Kristine.

That is another creative solution! I would never think of those things. Glad you enjoyed a day off.

a day off, what is that..lol..

I like your paper towel solution! I have tried used dryer sheets on things like the car seats and recliner when static electricity is bad. Helps.

The chickens look great. I suppose that- egg laying is hard work and they were ready for supper! Maybe they were just glad to see you.

Have a great day.

We love Dr. Who! We were very disappointed that none of the channels here carried it this year. :/
Love your ideas for the duster, too. That's great! I refuse to buy the paper towels with the perforations in the middle I don't like them. haha. :)

Dog days of summer are always exhausting... if you find some energy send some my way too... that is if you have enough to spare. :)

Even better? You can buy a bundle of those cheap facecloths and use those instead and simply wash them when you are done. Or, even MORE green...old t-shirts :)

Love your chickens :)

When it is time to clean, you get it done any way you can. We know why our chickens love us.
