What? Eat by the computer?
Yep, this is what I do... eat in front of the computer and read email, blogs or watch something on YouTube. I'm by myself at meals and I would rather catch some minutes online than eat at the counter or table and read.
TV is out. I gave it up in favor of the computer. I should feel ashamed, but I don't.
I was raised in the '40's and '50's and homemaking skills were high on the list of must do's. I'm a failure. I must admit I do get a thrill out of setting and decorating a table. The love of glassware, china, fine linen, and silverware is still there. Sigh...
Hooray for the wind! I got rid of almost all the boxes on the porch and hopefully I will finish them and the rest tomorrow. I have to... it is going to rain on Sunday. Wow... rain!
While I was sorting through a box I noticed this leaf whipping around in the breeze. I love it when leaves get caught up in spider webs and dangle in the wind.
A leaf chime without the chime.
Autumn is almost here and I have lots of dried out leaves to prove it. I lucked out taking this photo because I managed to capture Morgan back by the trees getting a drink and a Buff wandered over to check out what I was doing. Treats?
It is fun finding things I forgot were packed away. I decided to keep the new snowman cookie jar, the old time salt and pepper shakers, and the old plates (made in France) that came from a '40's hotel in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
I love the smaller size of these plates and the shape of the soup bowl. They don't hold as much food which helps with portion control and that helps keep my weight down. Besides, I like them 'cause they are pretty and a friend gave them to me.

Be careful while you eat! I drink my coffee in front of my computer and am always concerned less I spill it. My friend had to trash his computer after he dropped his coffee cup on the laptop!
I'm afraid I have no housekeeping skills at all. Especially not at setting a table. Tetsu would prefer to eat in front of the TV. Boo hoo!
I don't blame you. When you read the blogs it's like visiting with friends and having breakfast together.
I hate to admit it, but with my son grown up, I tend to eat by the computer too. It seems like time is so hard to come by, so I multi-task.

Nice to have a peak into your home life. The china is beautiful!
I'm a failure at homemaking too. But I have hope that some day I will have a kitchen table or dining table that I can actually use if I want to. ;)
Until then, we tend to eat the way you do, too. :)
I find myself eating at the computer a lot too ;) I call it multi-tasking! I usually just watch t.v. while I'm doing dishes. Again, multi-tasking :) Your dishes are very pretty, and I like that leaf picture! Enjoy the weekend!! -Tammy
I too eat at the computer....try to be careful....so far so good.
Great photo of leaf-chime.
Those plates are nice...who made them in France? And those s/p shakers...are they Delft from Holland?
Fall is coming here too in Nova Scotia.

I always have my coffee in front of the computer.
I should give this a try...like having company for breakfast. Leave are starting to fall here also...love this time of year!
I eat breakfast in front of the computer too, except my eggs are poached and on toast. I've only spilled tea on the keyboard once, and luckily it survived. :)
Love the snowman!
My laptop is usually stuck to my hip, lol. Theres just so many things to see and ready, lol. Although we do have family dinner at the table every night without electronics... gonna have us do this as long as we can before the teenagers grow up and get busy with their own lives :)
