Morgan likes to watch the hens eat their handful of scratch.  I gave the hens a little bit of cabbage earlier in the day.

This Light Brahma likes to get her drinks from the leak in the hose.

The hens like to get together before they go in the coop for the night. There are always a few hens who go in the pen earlier for a bedtime snack.

Train chickens to go in the coop when you want. My chickens go in their coop to roost when it starts getting dark. But sometimes I want them to go in the coop so I can lock them up.

I like to paint.

I got the second coat of paint
on the island
and painted some
of the other cabinets.

I need to put on some painters caulk and then do some touch up paint work.

I still have lots more painting to do: the entry, walls, door, etc.

The comment box was neat
but it stopped working.

What fun to see your hens. I think it's wonderful you have them trained to go in their coop. I have to learn how to do that. Love the painting job you did.

Handsome chickens!

Mine go in the coop when it gets dark...I lock the door because there are coyotes out back that would love a midnight snack!

What kind of hen is the white with dark head and tail?

good tips about getting the hens inside their coop, but in my experience there is always two that never make it!!!

I like to paint, too! I find it very therapeutic and it also gives instant gratification.

We have all kinds of bribes to get the hens in, but, like John, we always have one or two that like to give us a run for the money!

Those chickens are learning well.
The cabinets look awesome Mom. Our Mom likes to paint too. She likes to do the unveiling the most. You know when you take the tape off...

I'd say that Light Brahma is a very smart girl. She knows where to find the fresh water.
