This hen is showing proper caution by checking both directions before venturing forth... no cars, dogs, cats or raccoons.
She wants to get to some choice treats on the porch. Watermelon!
I thought I better post something! I'm in the thralls of blog boredom or blog overload. Sad maybe, but I'm not reading blogs or posting and spend my time doing other things. Lately it has been stacking fire wood, raking, and sewing.
And sleeping.
Yesterday, I had a migraine type episode with fortress lines and pain in the back of my head. The strange outcome is that after the pain wore off my sight improved and I have much more energy... not so tired and sleepy.
So, I could lay the blame for my not blogging on my migraine problem or just feeling overwhelmed.
The truth is that when I started getting over 200 hits a day on my blog it freaked me out! I couldn't handle the replying to comments and visiting blogs and just pretty much gave up. The blog is back down to about 50 hits a day and I feel much more comfortable.
I never thought people would want to read this blog but when they did I started trying to write interesting posts and the blog began not to be fun anymore.
So, I'm going to go back to just writing posts for myself and posting when I have something to record.
When winter shows up I will have much more time for the blogs.
In the meantime I'm going to take a page from Morgan's book and learn how to relax!

Bravo Callie!! Needs to be fun for you -not a job!! It will come back! Boo to the "M" they are super drag! Have a great day! Take care of yourself!!~Rain
Callie....I have been right where you are. The older I get,the slower I get and it takes longer to do what I have to do. So...what I don't have to do, doesn't seem to get done! HA!
It's been a long hot busy summer and I just couldn't find the time or energy to blog. I do miss it though and will take your attitude about it! You need to keep an eye on those headaches woman! XO
I write my blog to keep a journal of my little farm...I have no idea how to even find out how many *hits* I get. I read your blog, because you live in a favorite area of mine. I love your chickens and I love your quilts. I'm sorry to hear you have blog-burn out.
I know what you mean! Mine happened when I lost my job though a couple years ago. All of a sudden I had all this free time but nothing to write about. And then keeping up with everyone's blogs just felt overwhelming!
Blogging should be for you!
Agreed totally! Blogging should be fun, as any writing should be. When it stops being enjoyable and becomes a chore it`s time to ease up.
Have only just found you, via G+.
If it is a burden to reply to comments, does that mean you follow the advice to reply to all comments? I have never agreed with that.
I moderate all my comments. That means, after a reader has taken time to comment, they KNOW I will be reading it. I only reply to questions. And I leave comments on the blogs I read, when I am inspired to.
I weed off my blogroll those that I skim, instead of read.
And now we have G+ and a whole 'nother layer ;~))
I'm with you for writing posts for myself. When blogging gets too overwhelming then there is something wrong with blogging.
